Let's see if we get a message to Steyr's poor serv
Guys,
Anyone and everyone here(who owns a Steyr pistol)can you help get a mass message thru to their crappy, unresponsive customer repair service that they are completely unresponsive and unsatisfactory?
I've heard others here have given up on Steyr's fine handguns because of no responce or help from the importer or company.
I haven't had problems yet, but if/when I ever do, I'd like to be listened to, and satisfied with the company's "guarantee" and treatment of all their paying customers. So, I tested what others here have said about the company not being responsible/responsive to owners...and sent them an email that (in normal company policies)should have at least gotten a reply from the distibutor/importer/company....but no reply in a month!
Would other owners join me in a mass emailing to get their attention that there are quit a few owners interested in service(in less than a year)?....by emailing them at http://www.steyrarms.com/
thanks, together we can get their attention we are out here and will quit buying or recommending their pistols, if they won't even respond.
Will you other owners help and send them emails at their website, please? I love my Steyr, but waiting forever for them to fix something under "warranty" is unacceptabl(if I ever do)!!

Never had a problem with Steyr directly and here in Europe.
But you still need to go through that .Com site, which I suspect is the US Importer/Distributor site.0 -
...don't buy Euro handguns, buy American, like a Colt...[^]
...Man, no offense but, you have "not" had a problem(?), yet you are concerned "if" you do??? Don't be so anal retentive guy, your nerves will really calm down a lot...[:D]

Sorry,
I was taking the word of another guy here about that.
And I have noticed that of all the pistols I've purchased in my collection, Steyr is the only one that don't come a buyer's warranty card file out when and where the purchase was made to send back to them. My gunsmith says it's just their company policy.
I'm not anal...HaHa!, but can be a crusader of improving service if companies don't stand behind their relatively high dollar product.
Good to know that one poster's experiences were not the norm regarding the company.
(I've still yet to hear an answer from the importer/company about my inquiries into their fix policy with buyers like me and other owners)0 -
One of my local distributors has a broken Steyr rifle leaned in a corner of an office. It has been there for a VERY long time...so I asked about it. He said if he sends it back....there is NO importer of Steyr rifles at this time...so it will NOT come back if it goes. Hmmmmmm sounds like a little problem! 0 -
that's the kind of things I'd been hearing too, Locust Fork.
But I guess there aren't enough Steyr firearm owners here to care. and try to get the company to take notice we're out here, and need dependable service on guns we've paid them money for.
Oh well, I tried. But people here aren't interested enough to try a mass emailing to change that.
(again, I mention that they give you no warranty card to send in, so don't know(purposely?)who has been a purchaser or not. So anyone could make an inquiry email...If anyone was interested in helping owner members with getting Steyr to stand behind their service and products, that is?
Maybe they only pay attention to owners in Austria. Anyone have a good friend over there that we could funnel problem forearms thru to the company?
I know it's obsurd, but nobody on this forum seems to care anyway.
I know this is a potential problem with foriegn manufarurers from other countries, but the only company I'd heard of that lass no lowalty to buyers overseas, like us. The Steyr may be that last of the forien made pistols I buy for my collection....Except for the full size Baby Desert Eagle coming soon from Israel(they are a country loyal to the US)0 -

That distributor can have a single rifle imported with the proper form. I have done it and it is not a big deal to do.0 -
Importing is not the problem. It's getting the company to fix problems with firearms customers they've already sold to here.
MVP, maybe you could email Locust Fork with how that is done, to inform his distributor.
For myself, if I need repairs my point of sale gunsmith will soon be well over a thousand miles from where I'll be living in a year. With no paperwork or warranty card in the box when I bought mt MA-1, I can't contact to manufacturer and would have to do much long distance mailing to eventually have that gunsmith get it to the factory, if Steyr would respond. I'd hate to send it off and never see it again.0
