Good day at the range (with pics)
Went to a buddy's place after work today to try out some different ammo and see how the new scope works. I just got this rifle finished about a month ago and got a Nikon 3-9 scope to put on it. For being a 16" barrel, this gun suprised the crap outta me and my buddy both. The most accurate ammo I've found so far is the 50 gr. JHP Federals from Wally World...which is nice because theyre still somewhat cheapish. Anyways after the scope is dialed in, I stick a couple of the empties from his .300 Ultra Mag in the target at 100 yards and see just how accurate the gun really is...here is the results...they sure make a nice satisfying smack when ya hit em [:D]
3 shots later...

and just to make sure it wasn't pure dumb luck I tried it again...
2 shots after the first one...

And a few more crappy phone pictures...

The rifle is a Double Star Lower, Del-Ton 16" 1x9 chrome lined barrel and complete upper, M4 Stock, and Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 scope.
Shooting Federal Value Pack 50 gr. JHP ammo.

I guess some people like me could care less about the brass.0 -
Well, I don't have an Ultra Cannon and he didn't want the brass, so being the environmentally friendly lad that I am I decided to recycle em [:p]...I was wondering what would happen if I shot at some live 12 ga. shells though...anyone know? 0 -
So, it's still shooting a touch to the right?
Not bad.0 -
Very nice grouping. Are you useing a factory trigger, or two stage? 0 -
That is one damn fine looking gun. 0 -
Thanks. Just the factory trigger. It's a little bit heavy and rough, but I'm getting the itch to pull it apart and do a tiny, and I do mean tiny, bit of polishing to help it out a little bit. 0
