Here are a few pics of the 1911 parts and frame along with a couple completed and one last pic of the only marking on the pistol. Very small.
Anyone else into building 1911 no frills shooter grade pistols?
These have been very tight, accurate and reliable.

  would you take payments? unfortunately that is the only way i could get everything...either in bits and pieces at a time or all in one but can only make payments due to financial obligations...bills, mortgage, fiance....

  Hey MVP - couple of questions for you.
  
  What is the barrel length on these? They look to be commander sized, is that correct?
  
  Do you need any special tools besides a barrel lug wrench to assemble these?
  
  Also, I saw a couple of earlier threads where you used some special finishes on some guns. Did you use an airbrush to apply the finish? Did you then bake them in a conventional oven?
  
  Lastly, would these accept factory drop-in barrels?
  
  The reason that I am asking is that I am interested in building a "project" 1911 type and these look like they might fit the bill.

  Thanks for posting those pics.[8D] They turned out nice.
  
  HTR52, from the looks of the pics, you'll need a plunger tube staking tool and a grip bushing staking tool (some just use locktite, most stake them). Also it's hard to tell but looks like you'll need to mill the recess in the ejector for the pin?? The barrel is a 5" full size.
  
  I've never used that kit, but MVP can tell you if most of the parts simply "dropped in" or if some need fitting.

  These are full size 5" Barrels and they except factory drop in barrels.
  I was told these are military contract parts and do not require the heavy fitting of oversize match grade parts. Just light fitting if any at all.
  I have assembled 5 of these and the only special tool needed is the plunger tube tools to back counter sink and flare the posts in the holes.
  These are a dark gray parkerized finish so once they are assembled they just require a wipe with an oily rag and they are done.
  They are not a custom lapped and fitted 1911 but they are the type a military would issue and have the tolerances of a reliable duty 1911.
  I have done them with an arched main spring housing and flat like in the pic.
  Also assembling these will give you an excellent understanding of the 1911
  I have sold 2 completed pistols at 400.00 and one at 425.00 to local guys who when they saw them had to have one.
