I bought my daughter a new....

I bought my daughter a new Remington 870 Youth Express 20 guage tonight at my local Walmart. Dove season starts around here at 11:00 a.m. on Sat. She is 14 and has been complaining lately that my 12 guage is too long and heavy when we skeet shoot. Walmart is the slowest place to buy firearms but it is the only place around here you can buy a new shotgun at 8:00 at night. And yes, the asst. manager did pack it to the door for me. I didn't look at it as a hassle but rather a safety issue. If that is their policy, I'm okay with it. I paid $285.06 out the door. I didn't think it was too bad.

    years ago walmart had a "campers special" remington 870 express, your choice of barrel size, and gauge, and a marlin .22, my pop jumped on it, think it was maybe 230.00 bucks. Now me and my brother have the shotgun and the rifle.

    I cheched GB first. After shipping and ffl fee I figured I saved about$60-$70 bucks plus she wont have to wait for her gun.

    If she gets any birds she will be even happier. When we shoot clay pegions (sp) she only hits about every third one. Maybe the shorter and lighter gun will do the trick. Problem is we cant shoot any clays this week because of her schedule and mine. I'll post pics sat. night if she gets any.

    Hope she enjoys the new gun and the dove hunt.
    Season here in Ky. starts Sept. 1 .
    I have not found any birds yet to take my G- daughter out. Still looking.
