Tikka T3 Hunter/ .338 Federal

My Dad picked up a barely used Tikka T3 Hunter in .338 Federal. We live in the Pacific Northwest and figured it would be a nice "timber" rifle for Elk. Anyone have experience or know about this rifle?[?]

  I have a T3 Lite in .243. Love it! Can't say enough good things about it. I am not sure about the .338 Federal. It is still relatively new and I am not sure if it is going to catch on. But as far as the rifle goes he is going to love it.
