I'm new here and not up to speed yet on things. Will someone please explain to me the term ( poof ) and how it works ? Can anyone get one ? What has to be done or said to win one ? Is a ( poof ) just for the in crowd ?

A "Poof" is when a thread gets deleted.
They get "Poofed" for many reasons.0 -

I'm secure in my manhood. I can say "that's some beautiful filigree," or "awesome lace-work" without batting an eye. Poofing and stickies are similarly easy to say. What anybody else makes of that doesn't much matter to me.0 -

The difference here is, that the threads "mysteriously" go away. Many times for no reason than some member emailed a mod of their displeasure or someone with authority gets a bug up their breathing tube and doesn't like a post. Then there are the times a-d-m-i-n, makes threads that criticize the site, go silently away. Of course, there are the ones that need to be deleted because of name calling or language. [;)]0 -
Also, if you have a certain handle, you are more prone to getting poofed. If you hang around long enough, you'll become aware of who some of the notorious ones are. 0 -
