Now that you put Obammy back in the big chair the rumor about ammo control has started up. One attraction of a PPS-43 is the price and availability of the rounds. I've been paying 10 to 15 cents per round for years and now some guy on GB Auctions is offering three partial 50 rd boxes of the surplus stuff with a starting price of $100.oo!

Maybe I could sell him some of mine! Nah! It's too much fun blasting thru them to sell them. I love the smell of cheap Euro gun powder in the morning!

An older gentleman who knows guns and works in the sporting goods dept at Wal-Mart in Angola told me they had three price increases on ammo in less than two weeks!

Seems like stores are full and the auction side ammo is down and I have to ask. Why would anyone buy 1000 rds while prices are changing daily, I know if you shoot alot it might be good but most prices are on the way down.[?]

I have talked to Remington and they tell me they are producing millions of rounds in an effort to catch up with demand. When ammo is available again at Wally World, Cabelas, etc what happens to the ammo auction prices on GunBroker?[

I'll probably go to the gunshow in Louisville this weekend and check out ammo prices. It's been a couple of years since I bought any at the show so my question is, what can I expect for surplus .308 (7.62X51) for my Cetme and 5.56 for my AR? I've been buying Lake City 5.56 at $29/100 at my local gunshop. Haven't bought any surplus .308 since I stocked up a few years ago. I've checked prices on GB but just curious as to what to expect at the show.

.22 birdshot has gone up to ten or twelve bucks for a 50 round box. You can say what you want about the price of lead, but for the amount in a box of birdshodt the increase is not linear. There is something else going on with ammo pricing.

Went to Fort Wayne today and decided to stop in at Gander mountain. I have about 10000 rounds of 22 ammo but still buy a couple of value packs now and then. Remington hollow point golden bullet was $22.99 per pack!!! Stopped at Wal Mart on the way back and bought 1 pack of Remingtons $13.95, 1 pack of Federals $12.95 and one pack of Winchesters $12.95. Think I will stop buying ammo. I have enough.

Looks like 22 ammo is stalling out on the auction side. lots of high prices with no bids. Maybe things will calm down

I know this dead horse has been beat quite a bit, but it seems to me the ammo companies are using a political scare to up the prices by cutting supply and blaming it on hoarders. just a thought

I wasn't paying attention the last time ammo prices went nuts. For those of you who were, how long did it take for prices to get back to normal ?

What is driving up the price of ammo? I paid $6.99 for Federal birdshot (50). It wasnt long ago it was $4.50. .38 went from 11.95 to 19,00. What is happening?

Went to Dick's today to redeem a gift certificate .
Their prices on ammo are crazy .
    Cheap .22s for $20 per brick .
Only thing I saw that encouraged me ,was that shotshells seem to be coming down.
Remington Gun Club shells were down to $59.80 per flat from $89.90 .

Noticed that Federal 525 bulk 22 LR ammo at Midway jumped another $2.00 in the last couple of weeks. Where's the best mailorder places for ammo?

Damn! Ammo is VERY expensive now. Stuff is like tripled in two-three years. Started going up as soon as Democrats controlled Congress. Demand is so HIGH right now solely because of our new Administration in this country. I almost feel bad shooting it now because I would look at like I was losing current value-not purchase price. Maybe this is the Democrats plans- make it too expensive to buy?

I like having many differant guns and many differant calibers.
When people were selling off there guns the past couple years, to only have 3 or 4 calibers, i kept telling them to dont do it.

If prices are high on a couple calibers, other calibers will be low.

Like right now, im buying up 8mm and 7.62x54r
