Hi,I am too new to get involved in that mess!But I like to figure outwhat different initials stand for.One of my favorites is B.S.A.(Nothing todo with an artist.)As in the motorcycle co.It stands for British Small Arms.Anyone have others to share?

S&W or SW = Smith & Wesson
HB = Heavy barrel
AS = Adjustable sight
VR = Ventilated rib
RR = Red ramp (front sight)
WO = White outline (rear sight)
TT = Target trigger
TH = Target hammer
TS = Target stocks
FMJ = Full metal jacket
HP = Hollow point
SP = Soft point
AP = Armor piercing
FPS = Feet per second
FP = Foot-pounds (of energy)
MC = Monte Carlo (comb on stock)
BB = Bull barrel
FS = Fixed sights
SBR = Short barrel rifle
SBS = Short barrel shotgun
AOW = Any other weapon
FA = Full auto
SA = Semi-auto, Springfield Armory
LEO = Law enforcement officer
CLEO = Chief law enforcement officer
FBI = Computer geeks, accountants and lawyers, not a law enforcement agency, but they can sieze property and kill citizens with impunity.
ATF, BATF, BATFE = Jack-booted terrorists, far more dangerous than the above.0 -
IMI = Israeli Military Industries
AK = Avtomatic Kalisnokov
AR = Assault rifle (?) maybe, but maybe also short for Armalite
SMG = Submachine gun
MG = Machine gun
BMG = Browning Machine Gun, as in the .50 BMG cartridge
LMG = Light machine gun
HMG = Heavy machine gun
SAW = Squad automatic weapon
BAR = Browning Automatic Rifle, either the WWII military version or the sporting version that came later.
SMLE = Short Magazine Lee-Enfield
