AT&T DSL service experience?
I'm still using dial-up. I'm happy with my ISP as they have given me very good support and the service has been very reliable.
But it's dial-up, and that's all they offer.
My phone service is with AT&T (not because I wanted it as I am still pissed at them for an incident 5 years ago but my company was bought out by them recently) and they are trying to sell my a DSL connection.
Anyone have experience or opinions on their service and support quality?

I know a few folks with AT&T and the ones who are not very computer literate were pretty unhappy with the service.
ATT/Yahoo will try to cram their browser down your throat. The tech support is good once you get through which seems to take quite awhile every time (I called tech support for a friend a couple times).0 -
I have AT&T DSL and I have had no problems since they took over SBC. But SBC was a different story. I hated SBC. I even have a close relative that works for them. They say it's the same people just a different name. But I don't think so. They owed me $150.00 and when I asked about it they found some bill from 5 years ago that they said I owed them. Soon as AT&T took over I recieved my check in the mail.. 0 -
i have it and it is wonderful.... 0 -
Ditto.I've been using it for five months now, it's excellent. 0 -
Hey Saxonpig. I'm in Arkansas too, and I have DSL with AT&T. Personally, I like it. It's quite a bit faster than dial up. I've only had to contact them one time pertaining to the service, and they did alright by me. I say, go for it man. 0 -
Prices? I have cable on the "special" from Comcast but it will end soon. I figure the $33.00 will turn into $50+ so I am looking for an alternative. 0 -
I forgot to mention that I'm getting the Pro DSL service for $19.99 a month. Can't beat that price anywhere.. 0 -
Gee, I guess I should have considered that all the times I was referring to was when SBC was in charge. Things could have changed with the new regime. 0 -
I wish I has a DSL supplier to hate.
Even if the DSL service was owned by Michael Moore with Hillary as CFO and Schumer as VP of customer service I would still have it..
THe worst DSL is better than the best Dial up.0 -
Hey there Saxon. I just suscribed to DSL through Bellsouth. Received equipment in just a few days, and service was great. I would refer them to anyone else. JMHO.[:)] 0 -
I just re-subscribed, going into my third year with them. Went to 3.0 million bps at $31.00 per month. It has been very reliable service. Down time in the two years is measured in minutes, a few minutes. The speed makes the internet worthwhile and enjoyable. I'm barely computer literate, set up was easy. 0 -
I use to have their DSL service but I dumped them about 2 years ago. Their customer and technical support is terrible. For almost the same price, I went to cable ... faster and more reliable ... no problem since then. 0 -

Yep, 52.95 / month. Fortunately the company that I work for picks up the bill! [:D]0 -
Yeah. As stated above, SBC sucked. But AT&T Bought it out. Its good now, I havent gotten kicked off since they took over. Its pretty reliable. I even have internet when it storms BAD 0 -
Happy with our service. It was good when it was SBC, still good now that it is AT&T. In over 3 years, we have had maybe 3 short outages. Tech support is OK, just stay on the line and keep insisting that you talk to someone in America who you can understand. 0 -

I have Wildblue which I understand to be a AT&T company (satelite). I am very unhappy with the service. When the contract is up I'm gone. 0 -
I have had it about 2 months and so far so good. Once when it was real rainy weather it would cut in and out but all in all no problemo. Waiting for more real suck weather to see if that was a fluke. 0
