1903A3 = Fun!
Just got back from the ditch after firing the first 03 Springfield I've ever owned. The guy I got it from said it was a good shooter and he was telling the truth. I got a one inch group at 100 yards with Franklin Arsenal 1934 brass and 37 gr. of 4198 - yeah that's a light load but I put 50 rounds through it and didn't have a sore shoulder. My 700 Remington will do that with factory stuff and a scope but you I sure can't complain about the peep site and that perfprmance. I've shot lots of springfields that belonged to friends but never got around to buying one.

Oh yeah, the stock was buffed and oiled(no cartouche) in the past so it's not 100% but the parkerizing is 95% the barrel is 5-43 it's a Remington in the 3,2xx xxx range. If iit were mint I couldn't have affforded it . SHould have bought one in 1963 when I was 12 and they were $29.95 through the mail. 0 -

That brought back memories of past bullzeye threads where the feller shot a 2" oak down with one shot of his m44...0
