Bill O'reilly
Man, had to like him in his first segment just a moment ago. Granted i have been with this all along and why we haven't implemented it everywhere (sure it has been implented in some rough areas) but he pretty much said "give are troops and the Iraq police permission to shoot first and ask questions later during curfews" then went on to say "We should go after who ever shoots down this war on every little thing that happens (BBC, NBC, CNN, etc...) (like war is perfect).

Bill O'reilly is hated for some of the same reasons Bush is. O'reilly is for entertainment only. If you hate him, you need to rethink your priorities. 0 -

Bill O'reilly did nothing more than speculate, aloud, what millions of other Americans thought about the Hornbeck boy. To Bill and those who thought like him, it was beyond their comprehension that the Hornbeck boy stayed with his abductor, instead of trying to escape from him and return home. This is the same type attitude that millions of Americans held toward Patty Hearst when she was kidnapped, and later running with the SLA rather than away from them to return to her famnily.
Bill O'Reilly speculated, aloud, that an 11-year old boy enjoyed living with his rapist. That is f**king disgusting. And apparently the Center for Missing and Exploited Children feel the same way, since they no longer wish to associate with him. I'm sure there are people out there who thought that, how many of them ran their big mouths about it on a national TV show? How would YOU feel if your child was kidnapped and raped and Bill O'Reilly suggested that your kid was enjoying it?
Bill O'Reilly should not speculate about a f**king CHILD RAPE VICTIM, that's horrible and it's slander, he should have some respect for someone who was kidnapped at AGE 11 and likely brainwashed by a sicko manipulator. I think Shawn Hornbeck's father would be well within his fatherly rights to beat O'Reilly into a coma.
First O'Reilly slandered our WWII vets by saying that THEY murdered German POWs at Malmedy (twice he said this) and then he goes and says that a rape victim enjoyed living with his rapist, and not once has he apologized. If I ever run into Bill O'Reilly on the street, he's going to the Emergency Room. I'll gladly take the misdemeanor battery charge, it would be worth it to shut up that cretin for one day.
Did I say it was not disgusting? There was a member here on GB who voiced the same thing in their posts, remember? I fully understand your disgust with someone saying what O'Reilly said, I don't buy it either. And, had you watched his show the next day, you would have understood that he meant no harm to anyone. He made that abundantly clear, although, IMO, it was a monumental lack of understanding that he displayed on this issue.
I have no doubt that what O'Reilly said was a topic of discussion all over America among folks who discussed this very same issue without anyone trying to put other folks in a coma, despite how revolting the subject was to many of us.
WF, I've known you here on GB for sometime now, and I have known Bill O'Reilly for sometime, too. If I had to choose whose neck should be wrung for garbage pushed, yours or O'Reilly's, whom do you think would get my vote? No ill will intended.0 -
I am addicted to the Patriot channel on Sirius radio now. Andrew Wilkow is great and so is the NRA show at 9pm Eastern. The others on there are ok. 0 -

So my comments on a message board read by MAYBE a few hundred people at best are worse than the slandering of a child rape by victim by Bill O'Reilly on NATIONAL television on his show watched by over TWO MILLION people? Yeah what the f**k ever Kimi. I tell you what tough guy, you come and try to wring my neck, it will be the LAST thing you ever try to do.0 -

You sure like to SPIN things WF- spin as in twist. However, you made my point as to who would get my vote as the one to be running around like a chicken with their head cut off, should I have to make a choice of sparing you or O'Reilly. Again, no ill will intended.0 -

you are misinformed, you are listening to what "others" are saying O'reilly said... if it went down like you have put it, then you would be right to be outraged. BUT it didn't, I listen to him everyday. I heard what he said and then I heard what the media said he said... weren't the same. do some research before you get all wound up.
Prove it. I DID do my research, you pathetic sheep, here's the video of the O'Reilly Factor where he utters the quote I posted. Watch it for yourself if you don't believe he said those things.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=27ho0aEMeaw
At 1:40, Bill says, "He's got the piercings...he's a troubled kid."
At 3:23, Bill says, "There was an element here that this kid LIKED about his circumstance."
Of course, if you have PROOF that can refute any of this, I look forward to you providing it. Until then, you are nothing but an O'Reilly apologist looking to make excuses for Bill O'Reilly insulting the victim of rape and kidnapping, blaming him for not running away and suggesting that he enjoyed living with his rapist.0 -

WF, you are your own worst enemy here. The video regards two responsible adults debating the Hornbeck case in terms of why didn't Hornbeck escape. Now, if you find the subsequent video regarding the criticism Bill O'Reilly got from his stance, you will have more of a complete picture of this issue. O'Reilly's position, which is 180 degrees from mine, does not warrant being put in a coma.0 -
MSNBC twisted much of the story around to try and get their ratings up or to take Fox News down. Look at utube on the subject. Don't you think we need more info, like the trial, to get the whole story. I don't think any poster here knows how he or she would react if kidnapped at 11. Case and point, thankfully, the kid got away in Florida. I'll have to see what he said about gun control because I haven't see the segment on his view, since this was started about gun control. My 2 cents 0 -

I've watched the rebuttal that O'Reilly did where he responds to his criticism on this issue. He flat out lies. He said on his radio show that he could "care less if this kid has a pierced lip or not." Well, I posted the link to the O'Reilly factor video and the exact time in the video where he says "he's got the piercings...he was a troubled kid." If Bill didn't care, why bring up the fact that he had piercings at all? Why use it as proof that the kid was "troubled?" Bill is flat out lying here, trying to deny that he made that original comment. Bill is pulling some 1984 Revisionist history crap by pretending that he never said those words and hoping that the people watching his show will simply forget that he had said them.
He calls Rosie O'Donnell's comments on the view (where she calls him out on his "piercings" comment as justification for calling this kid's motivations into question) "absurd." That's all he says, he offers no evidence for why Rosie's comments are absurd. He doesn't dig out video from his earlier show to directly refute the comment with his own words, he does nothing. He moved on and pretends that he never said anything at all. That's all he did, he put some spin on it by pulling the old Hillary Clinton "it's all an Right/Left wing conspiracy" card that people on both sides of the fence pull when confronted with things that they did wrong. He then goes on to say that Shawn Hornbeck fell victim to "pure evil" but if you watch the video from the original discussion on the O'Reilly Factor, the one where he originally has the discussion with Greta Van Susteran, he NEVER ONCE says anything that portrays Shawn Hornbeck as an innocent victim. He calls Shawn "a guy", questions whether or not Shawn had a good relationship with his parents at age 11, questions why Shawn didn't run away, questions whether or not Shawn didn't enjoy his captivity, says he doesn't believe that the Stockholm Syndrome exists (Dr. Bill O'Reilly, clinical psychologist), and he rarely if ever mentions Michael Devlin (the REAL criminal in all of this). He spends most of his time bashing the victim, and even Greta Van Susteran can't believe he is saying the things he is saying.0 -

Where did Bill O'Reilly lie in the video link you posted?
I'm waiting. Where did Bill O'Reilly lie? Is someone lying if they state their opinion? Remember that the point being debated is the quetion of why the kid did not escape when he got the chance.0 -
warriorsfan, I did not insult you, I merely stated the fact that you are looking at the subject in a bias way.
how do you respond? you insult me. you have no honor, you sir, have shown that you and any statement you make are not worthy of debate or discussion.
But you have a nice day in that closed little narrow world you live in.0 -
Bill said today on the radio factor; `anyone can change his mind. I used to think no one needed a gun, but after I saw katrina, I believe everyone down there needed a gun to protect themselves.` I don`t agree with all his positions(global warming for one)but the name calling is juvenile and uncalled for. 0 -
I listened to him nightly for years. Don't watch anymore. The thing I like about him is that he calls others out on the mat and makes them defend themselves. He's also like a pitbull as far as following a story.
Got tired of his snobbish and pompous attitude, but I'm glad he's doing his job. He likes himself enough that I don't believe he really cares if anyone else likes him or not.0
