Town man charged in fatal stabbing
A fight at the Sunoco Mart at 740 Main St. in Arlington ended with a fatal stab to the chest, police said.
Town of Poughkeepsie police received a call just before midnight Friday reporting a fight in progress at the Sunoco Mart. Upon arrival, police found a 22-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was brought by Arlington Fire EMS to Saint Francis Hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.
Police arrested Town of Poughkeepsie resident Hugh Bailey, 40. He was charged with second-degree murder, a felony.
He was arraigned in Poughkeepsie town court and sent to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
Members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department assisted in the investigation.
Happened about 100 yds from our house
Wasn't like this in the 40s,50s early 60s
Note--The city now is posting billboards with "possession of a loaded unregistered handgun is 3 1/2 years minimum prison time"
but the DA will use that as a plea bargain device[:0]
