Like old John Wayne once said..."If you don't like the treatment, don't rob the banks".....or words to that affect. [:)][:)]

I have 23 1/2 years services working in a correctional facility and the food they get is better than what you and I eat. It is approved by a dietician and meets all the daily requirements. To meet all the BS standards put before us in a correctional facility, if the inmates could just get along, their quality of life is also better than yours and mine.

I don't think they should be fed every meal of every day. One meal a day that doesn't contain proper nutrition. That way they'll loose energy after a few weeks and won't be able to cause problems.

I think they should ONLY be fed aphrodisiacs. That could be entertaining.

To all the inmates except this guy:

FCD......I totally agree on this one. I've been watching for a followup on this case and wonder what the outcome will be and what kind of plea bargain they will offer this puke. Or, if they will just take him to the border and release him and cover it up like most of these cases end up....[:(!][:(!]

If one comes down with scurvy, I say give him a little bigger orange.
    Other than that, screw him!

My wife is Palauan. She eats fish heads. It's a delicousy to some.

I say give them what our Marines eat....MRE's. Don't give them the candy or the heatpack to warm it up.

...Good damn thing Im not in charge of prisons. Theyd be sleepin on the floor, Joe Arpio's meals would be TOO good, no TV's, no libraries, none of the amenities the twits get now.

...The guards would be allowed to jap slap 'em "just because" to make them remember whose in charge and to keep their chit tight...slime bags...[;)]

...Oh, thank the ACLU and the bleeding heart libs for the living conditions and rights of these criminals...[xx(]

Boo hoo! They're in jail. They broke the law and have forfeited their rights as a citizen. Oh wait, that would mean actually holding people accountable for their actions...that would be far too straightforward and simple. Sorry, I was dilusional for a second there.

They're prisoners. If they're being fed a meal that allows them to survive, not get dietary related illnesses, lose excessive weight, etc., they have no right to complain. If they aren't getting enough vitamins I could see having a Centrum tablet included in the bag lunch; past that I won't shed any tears.

I agree. I had to eat MRE's for a month straight during Desert Storm and apparently it was good enough for me. If I was a jailer I would just throw them one of those for every meal. And don't forget to remove the matches. Don't want them to burn down the home the tax payers are providing for them.

I recently read a glowing article in the local paper detailed the home-cooked meals are inmates receive in county jail. The county makes sure that there is always a variety of food availble and its always plentiful.

Meanwhile, we have elderly folks that can barely afford their groceries............what a friggin load of crap

I wouldn't give 'em anything but bread, water, and maybe a multi-vitamin

"Bellows said that if inmates thought they weren't getting enough to eat, they could always hit the vending machines and or put in an order for a weekly delivery of convenience-store items, like ramen noodles and junk food."

-nuff said, You want more/better food, YOU PAY FOR IT.

You have no right to complain about what you get for free, especially when you did something wrong/immoral.

sounds like they get better chow than elementary and middle school kids who did not bring their lunch from home [xx(]

I think that nonviolent inmates who work for the prison should get better treatment and food, but those who sit on their can or violent offenders: well a couple sammiches with hardly any meat on em is just good enough [:D]

If they don't like it, why do come back? If you don't like the cooking, stay out if the kitchen.

I don't know about elsewhere but in my county the Sheriff (not the Sherrifs office) gets a meal allotment for each prisoner. Whatever he doesnot spend he basically pockets. Not sure what he does now bt years ago he used to wait for TV dinners to go on sale for 69-99 cents and stock up for the month. Ay that time I suspect he pocketed 1/2 to 2/3 of the meal money.

For what it is worth jail needs to become jail again, an undesireable place to be. It's supposed to be a deterent not a badge of honor.

They should be fed good wholesome food that meets calorice and vitamin requirements. If bologna sandwiches meets that, good. They get no choices, its jail not a restaurant where you get a damn menu.

btw- are these people that complain actually doing something productive while there? Sounds like they're sitting around in the AC complaining cuz they got no money for snacks [?][?][?]

If half of them got hung for the crimes they committed there would be more food for the remaining population.
