NSSF Urges New York Sportsmen To Oppose
Anti-Hunting Nominee To Head DECThe National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, cautions New Yorkers that state Assemblyman Alexander "Pete" Grannis' voting record in the New York State Assembly is anti-gun, anti-hunting and anti-sportsmen, making him unqualified for the position of Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) commissioner. During his tenure in the Assembly, Grannis sponsored and signed on to numerous anti-gun and anti-hunting bills, as well as legislation to outlaw trapping. Sportsmen cannot allow Grannis to become DEC commissioner, as he would have the legal authority and ability to impose, through regulations, his anti-hunting and anti-sportsmen agenda. Please call Senate Environmental Committee Chairman Carl Marcellino and your state senator TODAY, and ask him or her to oppose the confirmation of Pete Grannis as DEC commissioner[V].
