I guess I would pick savage because I have never really shot winchester rifles or springfield rifles...I have shot there pistols

Marlin all the way. From Lever action centerfire to semi auto rimfire you can't go wrong with a Marlin.

I always liked the Springfield trap door better.
HK makes some good rifles.
