A quarter of a million dollars for a moldy old polar bear carcass? LMAO.

See - bidding for fun can be enjoyable.
Unless you get caught and have to buy 3 guns all in one night.

Even if you had a quarter million dollars would you spend it on a bear that someone else shot. For $250,000 couldn't you charter a hunt, take the bear yourself and have it mounted and shipped home?

It's a shame there aren't a couple of them, they would look really cool standing with one on each side of the nursery's door. That would keep the kid's from getting up in the middle of the night.

not according to the owner of FRED THE BEAR if i had the money to buy,my luck tells me that during shipping something drastic and unfixable would happen, like a semi truck accident, fire how would you insure the package?

I've estimated the crating and shipping cost to Montana at approximately $3,800 by barge into Seattle, plus another $1200 by truck to here. Airfreight would be close to $10K after crating and delivery to and from the airports. [:0]

Rat's! I just measured my ceiling height and the bear just won't fit. [:D]
Don't let the shipping hold ya up. If you barge it into Seattle I'll be more than happy to go load that thing in my pickup and wheel it over to ya.[;)]

    gearheaddad,

This one is bigger ...and closer: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/pet/whtking.html

    Just not for sale.

Take a drive down interstate 80 and stop in friendly Elko, Nevada. I suggest keeping your activities to the first floor if you see this bear though... Not what you think, the third floor of the Commercial Bar and Hotel is haunted.
