Gun Legislation
After the VT shootings and the present makeup of congress, change is certain..and I really don't have a clue as to what I can do to make a difference as to what those changes will be.
Will the NRA step up, how about the firearms manufacturers ?
Just who the hell will take care of us?
What kind of changes can be expected other than more restrictions.
Should we as individuals even try to sway a legislator with our wants or ideas.
I can't seem to see a good ending for collectors, hunters or target shooters.

Yeah this guy really probably messed it up for a lot of us. I'm sure it couldn't hurt to write your congressman and at least get your voice heard. 0 -
Anytime you see a letter in a newspaper demanding more gun control because of the shooting, write a response with this info.
Virginia Tech
16 April 2007
Armed foreign student Cho Seung-hui goes on a shooting rampage on campus and shoots over 50 unarmed victims, killing 32 before committing suicide.
Virginia Appalachian School of Law
18 January 2002
Armed foreign student Peter Odighizuwa goes on a shooting rampage on campus, shoots and kills 3 unarmed victims before an armed student stops him.0 -
Considering the questionable mental state of this murderer (at this time) it would not surprise me to see more action on H.R. 297 coming soon. The "NICS Improvement Act of 2007" This is a bill that Mrs. McCarthy (surprise) has introduced for the last three years. So far, it has never come out of committee.
Basically it's a bill that requires states to "make available" records of people that have been adjudicated mentally defective, or have been committed to a mental institution, in a more timely manner than presently. It covers other records as well. It penalizes the states, by withholding federal funding, if they are not in compliance.
This bill didn't go anywhere for the last 2 years, but considering the present situation, I can see this one getting pushed. They will push ANY kind of gun law, using ANY excuse for it. [:(!][:(!]0 -
11th, like your questions. The NRA has already stepped up,been fighting for gun rights for years. As far as who will take care of us? Start writing letters to your congressmen, like so many of us are doing. Join the NRA or the GOA. Do your part to help them help us. 0 -

It is up to you my friend! It is up to you!
Join the NRA or GOA. Write your Congressmen, Senators, State Legislators, etc. Respond to news reports in writing. It about all you can do until we have protests on the streets.0 -
Fatboy I tried to google your facts about the Armed student stopping the shooting in virginia, it does not support that version though it says that several unarmed students tackled him? 0
