I guess you have all the handguns you care to own already. Must be nice.

Yup. They have a law in Maryland that every gun shipped to the state has to have a round submitted that has been fired through it to whatever Maryland stormtroopers' office. I believe it has been on the books for 6 years, guess what - they haven't solved a single crime using this crime fighting method.

But has no doubt cost taxpayers millions of dollars.[xx(]

Don't understand how even a Dumocrat can be so stupid that they can't see that anyone could pick up dozens of fired cases and throw them around any crime scene. I think they really want even stupid useless laws passed so at some point when its proved that it doesn't work they can try something even more stupid until eventually they can get the total ban they really want. Or are they really that smart. quote:Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure about the former. Albert Einstein

If I ever buy a gun with the micro-stamping I'll just remove the involved parts and replace them.

Its either that or I have to pick up every piece of brass I ever shoot from that gun.

I wonder what the office is that receives that stuff. Should we all send ALL our brass (non-reloadable, for those who reload) to that office? Keep 'em busy and make them think they're doing something productive?

I believe Barrett is refusing to sell any of their .50 cals (maybe all their guns) to any California gov't agencies/Law Enforcement. They say that if the people can't have 'em then the Gov't can't have 'em either.

Hmmm - does the microstamping work on STEEL cases??? Looks like they might have to ban the cheap ammo.

Even though the weapon works well and is safe, when the microstamping is no longer legible, is the weapon now illegal?? What are the standards for "Legible"? 1000 rounds? 10,000 rounds?

Might not have enough room for the microstamping to be legible on the smaller rounds...maybe 9mm up to .499 is all that is now allowed?

Sure am glad I "Voted with my feet" and left the state of Kalifornia 13 years ago!!!

Now buying pre-lock,pre microstamping weapons from those stuck in Kali - I'll pay .75 on the dollar for interesting weapons.

[}:)][}:)] I'm going to start collecting microstamped brass. I wonder what a genuine Swartzenegger microchiped brass would be worth? [}:)][}:)]

Thanks for reminding me why I left CA in '86.

Here's a great aftermarket idea: firing pins with personal messages and happy faces! Just on case they ever end up under a microscope.
