Last days of school...two today one tomorrow!
The two of mine in elementary school have the last day of school today....and my high school girl goes tomorrow...then its done for the year. Things I look foreward to for the next couple of months:
Phone calls every fifteen minutes saying things like....he sat where I was sitting and he won't get up!
Absolutely NO groceries in the house....no matter what you buy or tell them to eat and NOT eat.
My bedroom becoming a daily campground for whoever doesn't get to the living room television first.
Massive piles of dirty 15 yr old girl clothes...because we have to change multiple times only because we wanted to and have access to our entire wardrobe 24 hrs a day.
HUGE numbers of children spending the night because they miss playing with each other every day....and if SHE gets to have Reagan over I get to have Tyler and Ryan....but if HE gets two friends then I get to have two friends so I am calling Heather!
Two NASTY little dogs because they follow the kids off into the woods each and every day...jump into the stream and pick up as many leaves and bugs as they make their way back to "the campground"....my bed!

Oldest son finished a week ago, youngest son has his last final today. Both start summer jobs as lifeguards in about a week. It is going to be an interesting summer.... 0 -
Mine kids are out of the nest now, so I got some horses.
They eat less [:D][:D]0 -
I always wondered about this as a kid... how come my parents would send me to summer camp for weeks at a time (4-6week stretches between 2 or 3 camps in different areas - Keys, NC mountains, etc).
Now that I have children (6 and 3), I understand....0 -
Out of six, only one left at home, and she has a busy summer. Going with me to LA to visit her Grandpa, and visit some friends on the way down, some 4H horse action, and will be spending some time in DC with her Brother, Doug II, to do some college visits and generally tour the East Coast. Also spending a couple weeks wilderness camping with me in the woods (I hope). Since I had my back surgery, I think I'll be able to sleep on the ground, again. Haven't been able to camp for a couple of years.
Shoiuld be a fairly peaceful summer for me and a pretty busy one for her.

We've been there, done that, and thankfully survived those times. Occasionally we will miss those days, but then our sanity returns and we're thankful for an empty nest and retirement.[:D] 0
