going to range, then hunting......question

Next Saturday I plan on going to the range to re-sight my rifle, and then head straight from there to the woods. Any problem with not cleaning the rifle in between the sighting and the hunting?

    I was always told to Clean-it,Sight-it then Hunt with it. If you clean it after sighting in your barrel will have lube in it. Also use the same ammo for sighting in and Hunting..

    I never clean my rifle after it is sighted for hunting.
    If you shoot a lot you will know that the first shot from a clean rifle is usually going to be off and then when the fouling shot has been fired you will get a consistant group.

    Clean it shoot it then hunt with it and use the same ammo you used to sight it in.[:D][:0]

    cleaning after sight-in can require several fouler shots to get it settled back in. I never clean a gun after sight in,..many times I'll foul in a barrel BEFORE I even go to a benchrest match so I can depend on the impact of my first sighter shots rather than wonder if they will settle in somewhere else during the "record" period of 5 shots.

    clean it after the season,...then recheck zero zero next time out and leave fouled for the hunt.

    LOL! OK, sorry, wasn't trying to point out your mistake. I just thought it was a term I was unfamiliar with!

    It's always best to leave the gun alone after you sight it in if you are going hunting right away! However, the most important thing in the accuracy equation is using the same ammunition! That can make the biggest difference! I would think individual rifles would react differently to bore cleaning after sighting in, but to what extent I don't know.
