Neither one are electable IMO. Hillary's got too much baggage with Bill still around, and Obama seems too shifty. Naaah. We can do better, and not just because of the minority issue. 0 -

What I'm afraid of is that whoever the Democratic Party nominates will be elected on the "anybody but Bush" ticket. I know, and you know, that President Bush isn't in the running, but many people I know are projecting their dislike of one man onto his entire party.
The question will be, I think, whether or not the Democrats figure they have a wide enough margin of support to win regardless of who they nominate. If there's doubt, I suspect they'll run someone other than either Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama. If they believe they've got a slam-dunk win in the bag, I suspect they'll be looking to make history by putting one or the other -- or both -- in the White House.0 -

Astute observations. Here's my thoughts (I believe everyone is entitled to my opinion):
Clinton is losing ground. The Sheeple were GREATLY influenced by Oprah throwing her weight (no pun intended) behind Obama. I won't even bother to demean the sheeple for being so easily manipulated because in the long run, I think that's good. Why? Because:
If Obama gets the nomination, I don't believe that Hillary Clinton would bring herself to be the running mate of a Black Man, especially one younger than she. She's an elitist and most likely more racist than David Duke could ever aspire to be.
That said, Obama is very beatable if he's the Democratic candidate. Hillary, on the other hand...it'd be very, very tough.
On another note, regarding your comment about the "anybody but Bush" mentality...I hear you. I haven't decided who I'm voting for but Romney is definitely one of my 3 candidates at this time. I hope that the fact he's a Mormon won't turn off otherwise Conservative voting voters who are anti-Mormon. Their anti-Mormonism blinds them to the fact that his genuine religious beliefs (if they want to vote according to their religious beliefs) are much closer to theirs if they're Baptist, Methodist or whatever than some poser like Clinton or Obama who simply throw on the mantle of piety for votes.
Standard Disclaimer: no, I'm not a Mormon, no I'm not even a Christian- but I agree with the basic tenets of Christianity (and Mormonism IS a Christian Faith, despite what a lot of anti-Mormon Protestant denominations claim). I just abhor how leftwingers holler "Free Speech! Free Speech! Free Speech everybody, get your Free Speech over here!" while they gleefully attack Christianity on ever front. I predict in less than a decade, the ACLU will have sued the Federal Government over making 25 DEC a Federal Holiday called "Christmas". It'll have to be called that Hannuhchristokwanza thing or whatever they say in those Comedy Channel commercials.
But I diverge.
Conservatives best hope? Obama gets the Democratic nomination while Romney or Huckabee get the Republican nod...unless Clinton gets the Democratic nomination in which case it'd take "Born again" Gun Lover Giuliani to beat her.0 -

Paleobrute: That's a pretty solid opinion you have in my estimation. OBama running on the democratic ticket will be the one thing that would unite the republican party to its best voter turnout, and even that might be a lost cause, especially if Romney or McCain get the nomination. The fact is that the GOP is in incredibly bad shape at this point in time. 0 -
Obama or Hillary, it's all the same. Either one will bring out the R vote. And I will vote for Guiliani, or whomever is the R candidate, but I'll be wishing he is someone else.
Like the old Ghost Dancers on the reservations in the 1890s, who believed their dances would return the buffalo to the plains, I keep waiting for Ron Reagan's next incarnation. I had hopes for Duncan Hunter, but don't see him among the front-runners. Have questions about Huckabee, Romney, Thompson. Paul is an idiot, and only the fringe thinks he's real. I think he dropped outta clown school.0
