Sundays Ride..
Went exploring today, looking for an old mine I found on a topo map.
It is located about 6 miles up a canyon on a bench above a bend.. I've always admired and wondered about the people that prospected here in Arizona in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I think they had a grit and determination that you don't find much these days. It had to be a hard and dangerous life, but the veiw up and down his "street" was pretty good.
The shaft goes in about 25 feet and then turns to the right. I went in a little ways but didn't like the "shaley" ceiling. Around from the shaft opening on the same bench is a cleared spot with an old iron bed frame there.
The pics below show the entrance, the old bed and the steps he made going up the bench (after I cleared some brush from them).
