Deomcrats and Bible Verses on Debate
the last question asked tonight in the democratic debate was "what is your favorite bible verse" ? Only one candidate actually quoted a bible verse (kucinich). however, hilary answered "my favorite would be 'do unto other as you would have them do to you' ". i am no bible expert but i didnt know that was even in the bible and it certainly isnt a verse. am i right or wrong ?

Matthew 7:12: (king james)
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them"
Luke 6:31 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."0 -
You would be wrong. What she was referring to is what is more commonly known as "The Golden Rule", and in Christianity has it's roots in Luke 6: 27-36. Verse 31 Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them. . This is also where the "turn the other cheek" comes from. 0 -

I don't doubt that Hillary could quote the Bible. I recall she and Bill going to church every Sunday back in 1998. Why, when they walked down the church steps Bill had the biggest Bible in his hand you ever saw.
Oh yeah, that was during the Monica scandal of the BJ, and that was just some phony political posturing. She probably didn't read the Bible at all.0 -

Does this mean Hillery is going to give everyone health care upgrades to what the Senate has?0 -

Allen, as much as I dislike the woman, I have to say this in her defense. In times of personal conflict, a Christian is more likely to read the Bible than when things are going good.0
