shipping to factory/need ffl or not?? warranty wrk

When shipping back to factory do you have a to have signed ffl copy acompany the firearm or what is the law/rule i have naa 22lr to send back for warranty work never had to do this has anyone else? thanks,LOKO [:D]

    Nope...no FFL needed. They can also ship it back to you, but some of them require that it be sent to a commercial address.

    I'm pretty certain you can ship directly to the factory and they can ship it right back to you with no FFL as long as it is for repairs and/or warranty work.

    I seem to rememember doing that with a S&W 22A about 10 years ago.

    We do it quite often...no ffl required, and they will send it back to you as well, no ffl required..

    BR here...word of advice...Write down the model number, serial number etc...take pics if you can...Keep them in a safe place at home or office...Let the factory know its coming (phone call), give them the info on the gun...

    Include a letter with work needed, name, addy etc....You will need the model number, date sent etc IF you need to call them about how long the gun is taking, or to authorize any other work needed...


    Also the pics and info is great if it gets lost on its way to the factory..

    Now back to the subject. When dealing with Ruger make sure you get their letter to sign to authorize the work on the gun otherwise it will lay there untill you call them . Best to put letter in with gun no matter what manufacturer you send it.. I had to wait an extra month because of such letter..Most companies will inspect the gun then let you know the damage will be and usually they send the authorization form to you..This has been the case in almost all of the guns that I have had to ship back to the manufacturer.[:)]

    DO NOT MAIL A HANDGUN unless you have a FFL as a DEALER or MANUFACTURER. Or are one of the rare exceptions in the postal regs. Ship it second day air, FedX or UPS. Get popped by the Postal Inspectors, and you will not worry about owning a gun again.

    11b6r is correct. Call the place you are sending the gun and have them arrange for Fec Ex to pick the gun up at your house. Last gun I sent out cost me 25 bucks to get it to the manufacturer, and fed ex picked it up at my door..

    11br and classic are correct. Do not use USPS. Ship Fed Ex or UPS.

    Just sent out a Ruger last week through UPS. As long as they do not have to send back a new gun, they will ship back to your address.

    Thanks for all the help gentlemen,I have to ship it to NAA in provo,ut already spoke to a rep by phone he said to ship ups or fed ex to him and of course i have to cover shipping back also ,is this normal? he said he would fix the problem [cylinder wont rotate when hammer is pulled back]NAA mini revolver i took on trade with the holster grip and box papers etc.dont have anything in it so... i guess its worth 25.00 each way to have it repaired.i will call them back tomarrow and see if they can arrange to have it picked up for me once again THANKS for all the advice,LOKO[;)]
