Towing a vehicle on private property, in CA it is a pain in the butt,
What is it like where you live?
It is illegal to put a vehicle that you don't own on the street.
Even if that vehicle was left without permission on your property.
You have to pay out of pocket to tow the vehicle away.
It can take between 30 and 45 days to tow the vehicle.

Pending the situation. IF a tenant has a non registered vehicle they can get notice to remove the vehicle per agreement.( and statute per county ). If the tenant vacates the property and leaves I simply call a local wrecking yard ( who is real glad to get it ) and have them tow it to their place. A notice is sent to the last known address of the tenant where the vehicle is. IF they don't pay the storage fees and wrecking bill the towing company has , the tow company simply goes to the Magistrate and gets a new title. 0 -

Although - for emergency purposes - somewhere in there is a relay with 3 prongs. Put a screwdriver in the middle of them to complete the circuit and it starts right up!

Had that happen here. Someone left a car near the front of my house. Mysteriously, it was dragged down the street a bit, by SOMEONE, late at night. A couple of weeks later, it disappeared.

we had a vehicle in our parking lot for 1.5 weeks, didn't move, wasn't a tenants, so I called the police. Traffic and parking officer came, put a 4 hour notice on the car, gave me his card, told me to call him if it was still there in 4 hours. It was, called him, tow truck shows up in 10 minutes and car is taken to county impound. 0 -

Call a dealership that services whatever kind of car it is (Ford, Chevy etc.) and tell them that YOUR car broke down at THIS address. Do this from a pay phone. Use any name you want.
Tell them that you left it there, and went to work, and will meet them at the dealership in the afternoon/evening.
The car will be towed, no police report made because the car was towed at the owners request, and when/if the owner eventually finds it, it will have a lien against it for the tow and storage.

It seems that vehicles are getting to be a popular means of disposing of bodys. Depending on the circumstances it might be a good idea to call LE first. 0 -
This happened to me once. I had a truck left in my parking lot. It had been there for a couple of weeks before I called the police, they came and ran the VIN and it was not stolen. They said that they could not help until it had been there for 60 days. The next night I pulled it out of gear and pushed it in to the middle of the road with a fork lift. It was not there the next morning so i guess they took care of it. [}:)][}:)] 0 -

i had a tennant leave a unregistered car in the YARD once. they vacated and said theyd be back for it. well, they never came back. no one knew where they were moving to. not even the court that ordered them to pay back rent. the state wouldnt touch it because it wasnt in the road. the city wouldnt touch it because it was on private property. they told me to call a wrecker and id have to pay for it up front. then id have to sue the tennants to get paid for it. wait a minute...these teannants just broke contract and left without paying 2 months rent and you think their gonna pay for a towing bill?
so, i had some renters look at the house. i told them they couldnt move in until i cleaned up the yard. one guy told me if he made the car go away, could he move in? i said yes. 3 days later, it was gone. and, he never returned the screening papers for the rent! seems he musta had a record and couldnt make the down payment. what a deal![}:)][;)]0 -

hey, i thought he owned a wrecker or a garage. he just stoppd in and saw the 'for rent' sign. and besides, everyone in town knew the house and car. it had been there for 4 years. and for 4 years we asked, ordered, and notified the tennants to move it. they never did and ignored us. was being a longsufferer the christian thing to do here? we did it for 4 years.
btw...was it christian for the tennants to abuse us for 2 months rent and do 5000.00 damage to the rent by turning it in to a crack house? was it christian for them to ignore the court and leave my parents with 1000.00 court fees?

Check and see if there's a magnetic key box somewhere on the underside. Some people put keys there and forget they're there. If so, you could start it up and leave the car somewhere else. Exhaust all other options before paying out of pocket. 0 -
Having lived in Kali - Push it out into the street to the curb.
Remove tag, put tag under drivers seat.
Call local code enforcement it will be gone within 3-5 days.
Dont damage vehicle, you could be responable for the POS.0 -
in texas if it is left on your property you can file a storage
lien on it and get a title in your name, takes about 30 days.0
