Talk about a good friend!
I'm sitting here at the 'puter, in the far end of the dining room and here this noise.....at first I guess I subconciously took it for a snow plow.....but WAIT......they NEVER plow our street until at least 3-4 days AFTER it snows! Through the living room I go, asking my daughter as I pass, "What the hell it that noise", as I realize it most definitely is NOT a plow truck on our street, it's a SNOWBLOWER.....but why is there a snowblower in my driveway? Because my neighbor from across (and a very good friend by the way!)the street has just finished my drive and is about to do my sidewalk![:)][:D][8D] He says, "it's wet, heavy snow", something about I'm old(43, smartass!) and all that shoveling will make me tired/sore! So, who am I to argue with that kind of logic?!?!?!*LOL* I told him to come inside when he's done. I'll pay him in beer! Helluva a nice guy!

My dad wrote a nice piece on that same thing in his weekly column. This winter has been absolutely terrible, not knowing if Mom was even gonna live, much less be able to come home. The hospital where she was fighting for her life was a two hour drive. In good conditions. On top of that, NE Colorado's had more snow in December and January than we have in nearly a decade. Remember Pop is 78 years old an his hips and legs give him fits.
Well, his neighbors have made sure that Pop never shovels a walk or driveway. And when the city, in an effort to clear the streets of snow, piled a 4' high, 5' wide 8' long drift right in front of his driveway, another of his neighbors bladed it out of the way. Wouldn't even take a cup of coffee for the deed.
My own neighbors are just as giving. Feels great to know that someone's got our back in this crazy, stupid, self-centered world, doesn't it?
