I don't feel any pride in letting Remington and Outdoor Life know what I felt about Zumbo's comments. I don't rejoice in his changes of fortune.

But, (ranchers will know what I'm sayin' here) sometimes ya gotta hang that coyote carcass on the damn fence.

If this ideal can exist we are failing to educate the ignorant, I have grown weary of trying to educate the ignorant. It's like wiping your azz on a wagon wheel. Let them be ignorant. They will see the error in their ways, someday when it's too late.

Oh, so it is your lack of intestinal fortitude and spineful persistence that makes it unworthy for you to try and educate him even though this is his first infraction, or those that have never been properly educated. I see, your true colors are shining brightly...

False bravado and machismo will always fail to garnish results and are the excuses of the unefforted. This is a pathetic excuse since we have already smote him as we should have. We NOW need to come together as gun owners behind him as long as he follows thru with his newly focused and righteously intended mission.

NO, it's my lack of desire to babysit some dumbazz who had years to get it right.

You call it what you want and you follow who you want. Don't expect me to do the same. I WILL NOT follow him. He can go to the back of the line.

Why do people like you always need to "kiss and make up" or "extend an olive branch" with somebody? You can do that if you want, but don't expect people like me to follow suit, and it matters not one damn bit what you think of me.

I'm not sure of the disposition of this reply. Since we DID take a zero-tolerance stance, and we DID act accordingly, and we have turned him squarely back onto the right path, is he still disqualified from carrying our torch?

What, you think Zumbo has had an epiphany or something and changed his views since he spoke his true thoughts, people noticed and he got spanked?

He said what he said and he meant what he said. Do you think he woke up that morning and suddenly realized that he was ok with banning "assault weapons" or "terrorist weapons".

You are damn right he is disqualified.

By the way, who's torch was he carrying, yours? He sure wasn't carrying mine.

Your original post was a question about rallying together and destroying Socialist/Communist Dems. It was related to what happened to Mr. Zumbo.

I posted my thoughts on why destroying them will not work as it did on Mr. Zumbo.

My point is, that we need to adopt the "Zumbo effect" for each and every gun ban/restriction attempt. If the Anti-gunners see this kind of a visceral reaction, they may fear to move forward.

You don't get it... He is NOW carrying OUR torch as gun owners under the direct supervision of Ted Nugent among all of us as united gun owners that smote him for his infraction. He is now on a mission and is in the midst of undergoing a forced epiphany that, if he is truly open minded to, he will change for the good. It is our responsibility to monitor him and have oversight of him to keep him in check and make sure that he is truly continuing down the right path toward the righteous goals of all American gun owners, just as it is our responsibility to support him as long as he has asked for our forgiveness (and he has) and pays his penance of a mission of firearms truth and education.

And yes, we do need to adopt a Zumbo effect for every infraction, but if when the smoke clears from the scorched earth of our righteous will, we can take the good from the rubble and see the forest for the trees and accept those that were smote when they come to fight for our side, as long as they are honest and sincere in their statements and actions, and the only way to determine their sincerity is to allow them to follow thru with their intentions and oversee that they are being forthright and that they follow thru as their intentions stated.

I repudiate your disqualification of him as insignificant due to your ego serving refusal allow a God given right and chance for forgiveness as long as the penance is paid. Just as I won't accept the pantywaist excuse of "who am I to judge," I also won't accept the opportunity for true redemption being judged unworthy. I cancel your disqualification with my re-qualification.

If the time comes and he is nowhere to be found for congressional testimony and public forums of communication, then I will accept that he has not had an or is having an epiphany or at least a positive forwarding of our ideals and goals out of the ashes of his destruction. Then I will gladly drop him off the face of the earth from our radar screens and turn my back on him too. But until he fails to pursue and persevere in his stated mission to right his wrong, God will not allow me to ignore his efforts to cleanse his sins.

As to the original statement of this thread, I fear you are most likely right that we just never will have that effect of the liberal socialist elitists, and we will never be able to remove them from the battlefield.

Before the debacle as a hunter hid did carry our torches but fell well short of carrying the torch for gun owners. He also fell short of carrying the torch for all hunters of every sort, but no differently than falling short of carrying the torch for say archers and trappers, it wasn't the part of the line he was interested in towing just as there are parts of the line you and I are not interested in or at least investing our efforts and interests in.

It is self serving and self defeating for us to turn our backs on him NOW after we destroyed him. We have never been about the annihilation of our enemies, as there are plenty of good German and Japanese American citizens today that have thankfully, gratefully, and epiphnally, whether forced or otherwise, come on board with democracy and our American culture of freedom and liberty where all men are created equal and where we don't accept imperial rule, despotism, tyranny, fascism, or an elitist ruling class using the backs of a slave/peasant class.

It would be no different than if we were to have, after the smoke of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, looked around, high fived each other, kicked the survivors in the teeth and abandoned those survivors to perish in the fires of the chaos that would have ensued. We as Americans did not do that, we regulated them with persistent oversight and we rebuilt them and returned them into a sovereign nation and people that has proved their value towards democracy, freedom, and progress that stands as a testament to our righteous goals for humanity...

The correlation is clear to me. We didn't execute all the survivors or the former soldiers that committed acts of war against us. We reformed them and unleashed their epiphany back onto the world to exonerate the war we waged on them.

For a first infraction, it is the American way. If he continues down his road to hell, then I am with ya in letting him wither on the vine.

Personally I don't think anything of you because I do not know you and would never make direct personal asumptions or statements about you personally since I do not know you.

It is of the mindset and the thoughts and words than I take issue with or wish to debate openly and honestly, not you as a free American citizen (if you are an American citizen, I can't see where you are from as I am writing this, it is my assumption) or a citizen of earth and humanity that respects the American liberties and Judeo-Christian values that inspired our nation into the great history pioneering success that it is.

I would never suggest we follow him blindly, but support him since he has and does have a more widely spread sphere of influence and (at least did) have a far more widespread public forum than we who are not professional writers and nationally known hunters or firearms enthusiasts... All the while keeping a vigilant oversight of his future actions and behaviors as a public figure and speaker for the cause/American outdoors-man lifestyle as it is our responsibility to do.

I would suggest that we have the power to turn him off or on like a switch as we, the American citizenry of gun owners and enthusiasts, have proven we have the strength and power to do. Now I would suggest we turn him on in the right capacity and put him to work on the mission of our making.

Let's reexamine this... I truly believe you should feel pride in our letting Remington and Outdoor Life know what we felt about Zumbo's comments... They are there to serve us. It is our responsibility to keep them on the right track and to keep them serving us or at the very least to give them positive reinforcement for doing right and negative reinforcement for doing wrong, for it is we who give them business and, frankly, existence.

I love the reference, but what if you could turn the Coyote around and upgrade it into some sort of bionic machine and set him to killin' other Coyote's, wouldn't that be more useful than hangin' his carcass on the fence? (Alright, that did sound a little campy, but I think you get my idea)

I like your style Colonel, and have read alot of your posts and like alot of what you have to say. Thanks for the attention and comments.

I think Zumbo's recantation is a cynical ploy to get his job and percs back.

If he so quickly rejected his beliefs once, he can be expected to do it again, when it suits his needs.

I believe that we should quit discussing him, pool our resources to effect change in favor of the Second Ammendment and Constitution, and let him disappear from the forefront of our minds.

    I'm going to.

What do you want to talk about now??

Could be, but I think we should find out for sure...

Amen... I am sorry for whipping up this dead horse yet again... I need to forget the whole thing, at least temporarily, for the sake of my sanity...
