Layed off yesterday........

do to lack of work caused by the winter weather. Will be off for the next 2-3 months. So the wife makes up this "Honey Do" list.
1. Lay laminate flooring in the family room and kitchen.
2. Paint both including the ceiling.
3. Finish off the basement with spare bedroom, another family room,
and 3/4 bath.
4. Build 80 feet of 4 1/2 foot tall stone wall, back fill, and
install a 15 x 30 paver patio.
5. Extend roof over front porch. (14 x 28) With swing.
6. And if there is time build her rock garden water fall.

Heck, I don't even have my barn yet!

Arrrghhhh.... is it spring yet????

    Do you need another bedroom? BORING! Why not build a home theater? You won't regret it and you will actually USE the room!

    My only saving grace is that it takes her forever to pick out colors and such. This stone wall project has been pondered on for about two years and she still hasn't found any thing she likes natural or man made. Been building on this house for five years and it was just this spring she finally decided on the front porch design and build. Another thing that has slowed us down was that our son was killed in an accident 2 1/2 years ago and we didn't feel like doing anything while we were dealing with lawyers and lwsuits suits.

    kimi I used to be the major bread winner in middle management with long hours and such while she went to school now she is a corporate manager, told me to semi retire and get a 40 hr easy job.

    Doug Yea it sucked and stills does. A cement truck driver purposely ran a stop sign to beat some on coming traffic because "I didn't want to stop and have to shift gears" was his statement. His company has influence in the county and they worked out a plea deal with the prosecutor. 4 days in jail and loss of CDL for 5 years. In my former LEO days I've seen people get more time for not mowing their lawns.

    Isnt that typical of women you lose your job and they STILL want to spend money like there is no tomarrow. Even If it is on home improvements needed or not.

    Cy Ain't so much the temporary loss of employment (construction industry) it's the astronomical list of expectations while I am off. As far as the money we can afford it more or less.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

    I don't so much blame the company for pulling strings but I'd BTK his no good not wanting to grind the gears @$$. Even if I didn't kill his sorry butt, I'd put him in pain for his long miserable life. Like taking a 10 pound slegde hammer to both of his hands and crush every bone in it. So the psychological pain is there and then the doctors will have to amputate and he'll have to wipe his sorry @$$ with hooks. I'm sorry but this kind a thing really...

    Well we came up with an agreeable game plan last night....
    NO Black Friday shopping instead,
    Cabelas, then Pro Bass, then building suppliers, and who knows what else. This might just turn out all right. Now if the weather will halfway cooperate. Rain-snow mix yesterday, 10 degree wind chill today. Ain't life grand!!! On second thought I think I am being bribed.
