Great place to visit. Seldom buy there. I have two - 100 miles east and the original, 100 miles west. Items tend to be overpriced. Used gun prices...well...RIDICULOUS is an understatement.

It looks like we are going to get one here in Indiana this year also, but it is over a hundred and twenty miles away from my area. Oh well, it's a start.[:)]

I'm close to Ft. Wayne, and drygulch dan is likely somewhere in the area if he is in the UAW. There aren't too many UAW plants in this part of the state.

I hope we don't get one near by here, I couldn't afford one too close.

Heya PistolJim... Glad to see that one opening soon here in St. Louis. Hopefully it will be open soon. I have about $100 worth of gift cards burning a hole in my pocket there.

Yeah... strange thing though. Cabelas has been talking for two years about opening a store in Denver in 2007. Denver's been in all their catalogs for the last two years.

What did I notice on the "Coming Soon" stores page in the new catalog?

Denver ain't on the list. [:(!]

Just went to their website, and now they're saying Cabelas is due to open in Denver in 2008.

Oh well, that's just that much more money I'll spend at Bass Pro, Sportsmans Warehouse and Gander Mountain.

    Their loss. [;)]

    Bad Bad!!!
Now I have to pay sales Tax on my online orders from Cabelas[:(!]
As long as they didn't have a store in WA state we were free from the sales tax.

Make sure you stop by "Brewery City Pizza" when you're in Lacey. It has the best pizza on the west coast and a great selection of beer.[:p]

They're supposed to be building in Adairsville, Ga as well. I keep hearing that the local tax commissioner is trying to screw that up though. Seems Cabela's wants a tax break to move in but the commish doesn't want to give it to them. Never mind all the local sales tax to be had if they do move in. Some people are so short sighted. It just kills me.

In Idaho they are asking the state for an exemption from the sales tax on catalog sales. Don't know if it's gonna happen.

Locally there is a shortage of Remington 209 primers. Went to Cabelas for something else and asked about the primers. Well they just got in a case of 2 thousand, and hadn't put them out on display. I walked out with the two thousand primers and paid only half the going rate for Remington primers.

Some times they have good deals.

They opened one in Buda (south of Austin) a couple of years ago.

Just far away (about 50 miles) that I'm not tempted to make regular visits.[;)]

Come to think of it,I've only been there once just to check it out.

I went to the one in western NE a few years ago on my way back from Sturgis. One of the highlights of my trip. Great place.

Dan, where do you work? I retired from Allison Gas Turbine in '92 after being there for what seemed like forever!

they opened that store end 2004 i think.
have any kids or wife or girl friend or even yourself. go get a job there and a day or two before they open to the public they will have a employee and family sale. 25% off everything sorry not the guns. my neighbors wife worked there and i was her brother for that sale and I spent about 1000 bucks and walked out with near 1500 bucks worth of stuff besides that the store is cool havent been in there sence.

work there a week and quit.

Yup. I buy a lot of bulk reloading stuff there, just because its closer than any place else that sells bulk. And the prices for bullets and such aren't too bad. But Lord Love A Duck, their gun prices would make a hooker blush. I usually cruise through their Clearance aisles, too, just to see what I can afford. I'm not a real big fan of the Bargain Cave, because so much of the stuff is badly used. I hear rumors of a new Sportsman's Warehouse coming to my tiny burg in the near future. If that turns out to be true, I'll have less reason to go to Sidney.
