History of WW2 handgun
I have a Armand Gavage .32ACP with German proof stamps on it. It was brought home from WW2 by Grand parent. Are there any web sites out there to help research it? Anyone know where I can start? The serial number is 2550. Not to concerned about price/value of it. Just history. Thanks in advance

I don't know anything about your pistol, but this may give you some insight.
A good friend's father is a WWII vet. He has a number of military and non-military arms in his collection that he captured, including a double combination gun and a nice bolt-action sporter.
He said, when they "liberated" a town, the civilians were required to surrender their firearms. The firearms were then either destroyed, or appropriated by individual soldiers. If you found something you like better, and were at the limit of what you could carry, you would just destroy one you had with you, and pick up the new one.0 -
Nunn........Thanks for the info. The Armand Gavage that I have seems to be a rear piece. I have found a ton of info on it from this site. I will pass it down to my son when he is ready. Thanks for all the info. This site is great for newbie's like myself 0
