Single Action army question?????

So i'm interested in purchasing a gift for my dad. He has always wanted a single action cowboy style handgun. Obviously he would probably like the Colt 45 single action but their too expensive for me. I heard their is another single action made in the Colt factory, I think it's called "American" but I'm not sure and they make well made single action also for half the price. Any ideas as to what brand name I should buy?

  You can't go wrong with a Ruger single action. I've also heard that Uberti clones are popular.
