Watched Patton last night. This movie would give any John Wayne film a run for it's money as far as memorable quotes go.
Here is but a few:
They're ivory. Only a pimp from a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled pistol.
We're not just going to shoot the buzzards, we're going to cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads on our tanks.

The bilious buzzards who wrote that stuff about individuality for the Saturday Evening Post don't know anything more about real battle than they do about fornicating.
Now I want you to remember that no buzzard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb buzzard die for his country.
Capt. Richard N. Jenson: What are you doing there, soldier?
Soldier getting up from floor: Trying to get some sleep, sir.

Patton himself pinned a Bronze (or silver, I can't remember, he had both) Star on my Uncle Gib. There is a part in the movie that depicts him. He was a Tank Mechanic in Patton's 3rd Army and went from North Africa, to Sicily, Italy, across Europe, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge with Patton where Patton gave him one of his medals for jumping out of the tank in the middle of a fire fight, while under machine-gun fire, and saving a wounded/stranded soldiers life.
He rarely if ever talked about it and when he did he said things like, "It wasn't anything heroic, I had on a flak jacket." Which historically we know was nothing more than a pocketed vest with all the little pockets filled with sand...
He also got a purple heart and several other medals in the Battle of the Bulge among the other battles he was involved in.0
