I'd just disable the device on my car, that or drive an old gas guzzler. after all it has to be linked to my car if you read. 1.50 per mile thats pricey. 0 -
All ready in America. One state is trying them out. I think it is Wisconsin. 0 -
Sorry to say you Brits have let your government get totally out of control. So many cameras you can't take a leak without the constabulary watching. Now the local meter maids are wearing cameras to record all interactions. The socialism has overrun all pretense to freedom, and in my view needs a serious overhaul.
Hate to say it, I am am a true anglophile, but the gov has run amok.0 -
America already has it. It's called: $3.00+ a gallon. 0 -
It pi$$es me off when governments discourage economic growth and promotes poverty. When local governments increase the cost of living, they are hurting the guys at the bottom, the poor and the homeless. Ideas like this one will increase unemployment, suppress wages, and increase poverty.
I hate politicians that take the "I've got mine. Screw you!" attitude.0 -
holy poop batman! ?1.50 a mile? That's $3.00 a mile for us 'mericans. That is, quite literally, highway robbery. 0 -

I would first of all wonder what the heck the government is doing with the high tax rate they collect from you Brits. You pay at the pumps and your income tax is off the charts. How can they justify a road use tax?
I am amazed that you all aren't protesting in front of the Parlement Building every day until that bill is dead! Seems like you-all have been nutered and can't stand up for your rights anymore.0 -
Dang, Neil.
I'm just not at all comfortable with knowing my government must monitor my every move.
I know this is going to sound childishly simplistic, but why wouldn't toll roads work?0 -

and they already pay twice as much for gas and cars[:0]
+ it costs $100 a day to park in central London[B)]0 -
You would think that every politician and rich man in the world would keep what happened to Louis XVI in the back of their minds..But noooooooo!! It's "Let Them Eat Cake", until the guillotine's blade purifies the nation once more!!!! 0 -
quote:Satellite or roadside beacons will track virtually every mile covered by drivers AND quote:Road-toll officials will be given unprecedented "stop and search" powers to enter vehicles to check the identity tags have not been tampered with.
Actually it's 1984. Where are your papers?0
