I've watched it before. Good show. I've wondered that since some of the first long range shooters used Sharps rifles if the term "sharpshooter" comes from "Sharps shooter"? 0 -

I have seen Tom Knapp perform 3 or 4 times at the Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors show and he very seldom misses.

According to Dictionary.com, the term originated before the advent of the Sharps rifle, being around circa 1795.
Personally I think that would have been a great origin for the word.[:)]0 -

Can anyone ID the gun Tom Knapp is shooting? He refers to it as a .22 most of the time but once he called it a .22 mag. I know he is sponsered by Benelli. Its just buging me that I dont know. 0 -

If you are interested in snipers or sharpshooters. A man I work with (who was in vietnam also) cousin was a great sniper sharpshooter in vietnam with I think 93 confirmed kills. The guys name is carlos hathcock. do a internet search pretty interesting stuff 0
