I'm not making this up. I believe I even heard Rush Limbaugh touch on this subject yesterday.

Is it possible that Rush was high on Oxycodone when he said this? I wouldn't take anything that fat junkie says at face value, it could be the drugs talking.

I won't lend any support to this, because:

    1. I don't believe that the UN, as worthless as it is, is even dumb enough to print this, and

    2. If they did publish it, they would also deny the need for animal-based protein in the diet at all.

This is not new. I read a study on this about 12 years ago. They collected all of the gas from a cow for a month then extrapolated the emissions calculations to include all the cows on the planet. The emissions estimate was larger than all the worlds cars put together. Don't remember if they included other industries or not.

One more thing, cows and bovine are the same thing. [;)]

I well know that, but I was stressing the point because Bovine includes more than just cows, but people may not understand to include dairy cows along with beef cattle and pigs...

Leaving the worlds largest organized crime syndicate, the UN, to reap the financial benefits from the "carbon offsets" scam, as they legislate mandatory penalties, fees, and renumerations (IE taxes) to be paid by those (financially successful IE the worlds most successful; The USA) countries that refuse to comply.

Proving that the entire "global warming" "debate" is about nothing more than money power, and global control for the elitist, liberal, socialists, and their planned New World Order...

The culture war on American and Judeo-Christian values, traditions is in full swing, is real, and is the most critical issue in history! Our mission to uphold and secure our 2nd amendment rights is and must be the spearhead of our American defense of these self-evident truths!

Followed closely by the war on terror focused in Iraq. (Due to it's crucial to the Islamic-jihad-central location) This too is critical to humanity and God-given freedom of man! Once it leaves there, it will be here!

This is old news ... I heard something like this 15-20 years (I think) ago ... back then they said the cow farts were responsible for depleting the ozone ...

... which, from what I understand, ozone is what protects the earth from certain radiation from the sun ... which is what warms the globe.

    Exactly...

It amazes me how these arguments never change, but are given new life in the major media as if they are new cutting edge revelations that we Americans need to know. These are the same old warmed over rants of the environmentalist wackos that blame humanity and human beings for all the "bad" that happens in nature and how we are destroying the earth and how we must be punished for our evil ways.

I find the platform and thoughts of the lefties to be so pessimistic with nothing but negativity and despair while the thoughts and platform of conservatives to be very optimistic and positive with constructive ideals.

First, you can't eat your cake and have it too.

Either it's junk science, or else you can claim your carbon credit, but you're trying to have it both ways. As far as I'm concerned, you can have the carbon credit.

Animal husbandry is a big chunk of climate change. It's not just about cow farts, it's also that a whole lot of carbon-rich tropical and subtropical forest getting converted into carbon-poor grasslands to raise the livestock that makes husbandry a big contributor to total emissions. Their estimate also factors in the contributions from croplands used to produce feed for the animals.

Also, the report you cite claims that husbandry, with 18% of global emissions, has a larger share than transport, not that it has more emissions "than all of the automobiles and man made producers of greenhouse gasses combined." Actually, the report treats animal husbandry as one of your 'man-made' categories. It is a human-endeavor.

And although I wouldn't be surprised if there were a UN-sponsored document that reached the same conclusion it didn't look to me like the source you post had anything to do with the UN.

I didn't know about cow farts and ozone; I thought the ozone thing had to do with photochemical reactions involving CFC's.

Anyway, although the ozone layer does prevent some radiant energy from reaching the earth's surface, the hole in the ozone isn't a major issue with respect to climate change. Rather, it is a concern because without it, we get a lot of UV radiation, and UV damages DNA and other biomolecules, leading to skin cancer in humans, lost plant (= crop) productivity, and other nasty effects.

    Wrong answers pal...

UN cited and funded sources as part of their Global New World Order.

Also my topic was being absurd to point out absurdity. Yet my case for hunting being a more pure and righteous method of producing/gathering meat/sustenance is spot-on and inarguable unless intellectual dishonesty is employed. Which it didn't take you long.

My point about "carbon offsets" is to show that then are nothing more than a money grabbing scam being foisted upon us by the UN and is a global example of the liberal redistribution on a global scale that is coming and an anti-American assault on our American Judeo-Christian value driven culture.

    The Great Global Warming Swindle...

    Oh, and BTW...

Last week, Professor Ball appeared in The Great Global Warming Swindle, a Channel 4 documentary in which several scientists claimed the theory of man-made global warming had become a "religion", forcing alternative explanations to be ignored.

Now Timothy Ball, a former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg in Canada, has received five deaths threats by email since raising concerns about the degree to which man was affecting climate change.

One of the emails warned that, if he continued to speak out, he would not live to see further global warming.

"Western governments have pumped billions of dollars into careers and institutes and they feel threatened," said the professor.

"I can tolerate being called a sceptic because all scientists should be sceptics, but then they started calling us deniers, with all the connotations of the Holocaust. That is an obscenity. It has got really nasty and personal."

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/03/11/ngreen211.xml

Note, in the article how the idea the Left does so well tying their opposition in with Nazi's (as in calling then "Neo-conservatives") is in view : Does 'climate denial' sound like "Holocaust denial?"

Nigel Calder, a former editor of New Scientist, said: "Governments are trying to achieve unanimity by stifling any scientist who disagrees. Einstein could not have got funding under the present system."

    Sad. :(
