I have a hard time with diaphragm calls bs of a strong gag reflex. Primos does make a smaller model that I can use a little. its amazing the kind of sounds you can make with one.

A diaphram call is all I will use for coyotes.
Back when I was into coyote calling I tried all the electronic stuff among other calls and had the best resposne from a diaphram call which I imitated puppy squeels with.

I have a problem in cold weather, they get wet and freeze up.Otherwise they work great.

Unless I am mistaken, this sounds more like you are talking about an open reed call... The diaphragm calls go in your mouth and possibly have a horn you hold to your mouth to focus the sound, like a mega-phone... My open reed calls freeze up or go raspy when they get wet.

I have been thinking of purchasing a diaphragm call myself and giving it a whirl... Please let me know if I am wrong, and how a diaphragm call can freeze up when it is in your mouth...
