Katrina then and now

In viewing these photos it looks like little improvement has happened here in two years. Sure, the water is gone, but not much else has changed.

    They are supposed to do a story on CBS this week on the evening news on why hasn't all the money came from Washington that they have asked for. We'll see how far that goes.

    A LOT of that money has gone to the wrong people. Brother-in-law went down there to do some clean-up work and came back with horror stories, including months of non-payment. Smaller contractors who couldn't cover their expenses while waiting for payment left, larger contractors are leaving as their money runs out, lawsuits are being filed, the rich are getting richer, and the folks who were hired to actually to the work have nothing.

    And that's just the clean-up. There can't be much re-building until the cleanup is done.

    New Orleans is New Orleans. It is the city that care for got........a long time ago. Newe orleans is coming back, don't let the drive by media fool you. The fols who want to be back in NOLA are there rebuilding their lives and homes. The trash is still sitting in FEMA trailers 2 years after the storm and have no plans of leaving.
    With the right leadership (an it ain't Nagin), NOLA can come back better than ever.
    It will be interesting to see how the next round of elections come out once the voter rolls are purged of the non citizens.
