Guidelines for me
I am a relatively new poster to this forum. Have used the auction servce in the past but only recently have I begun to read the forums. I am male, old (1942 model), relatively liberal (in certain attitudes) for a redneck, educated, self-employed professional, a gun accumulater (not a collecter), a Texan, etc. I am willing to listen to anyone's thought if it reasonably phrased and sincerely attempts to address a subject. I reserve the right to disagree and I am not bashful in expressing my disagreement. However, I never resort to name calling and I attempt to limit my criticism of one's thought or position to a logical response to the topic. If the topic is of no interest to me, I simply ignore it.
This board confuses me. The first time that I read this board, I saw a topic from "danlittle" (I think) regarding riding horses. I immediately responded with a lengthy story. (BTW - a true one) Then I started coming back. I also check the "expert" board every time. While I realize that that group sincerely tries to provide quality info, this board seems to me to have no specific direction. While I recognize that the name, general discussion, leaves the world open, I expected it to relate primarily to guns, gun related discussions or at least to the topics that "gun nuts" might enjoy. Such is not what I have found here.
Evenso, I come back because there are a few items that are worthwhile to me. I am not suggesting that the rest is not worthwhile to others, just making a comment on my behalf. However, the lastest rants about RunForest or Albert or whoeverheis have just about turned me competely against it. I am not suggesting that he is right or that he should not be censured. But the time that has been spent on that issue is huge. Everyone, including me, if we chose, could simply ignore his posts and not respond. That would really chap someone who wants to start controversy.
I could have simply exited -- not come back to this board --- but as I stated prior, I am not bashful. Therefore, IMHO things have gotten out of hand. Plus, there are a few things here that I enjoy.
Now that I have "gotten that off my chest," I guess that I am fair game for any of you who want to take a shot at me.

Duely noted, and agreed. 0 -
Well, do ya' feel any better? *LOL*
FWIW, I agree with what you said, both concerning letting your opinions be known and disregarding/ignoring idiots/trolls, etc0 -
If you would have seen his last tyrade (sp?) you might understand the situation a little better.
I guess I could have just started poofing every post he made, but I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. He's an instigator and he's obviously very young...and has some growing up to do.0 -
A red flag went up when you stated you were "relatively liberal" and that you were "a Texan". Is there really such a thing (Liberals in Texas)?[:D][:D][:)]
Anyway, all jokes aside...I hear you and agree. [^]0 -
gbeggrow -- I stated liberal --- only in certain attitudes!!!!!!! Actually, not very many, except to let you have your say and carefully think about my response before I "blast you." LOL
Thenks, to those of you who understand where I am coming from.
ECC -- I do not know the history of this situation nor do I want to know. Some of the posts from this person seem to be personal attacks on others. Some of the other posts that I have read seem to personal attacks on him (her,it, whatever). I do not need to involved in any of it. I would rather read about riding bucking horses, shooting guns, hunting, or drinking (or about anythingelse).
Appreciate your post back to me.0 -
wtroper - you are wrong about everything you said, have said, or will say. Same goes for your thoughts. So there.
