Metric System...long overdue.
Many American industries have been working with the metric system. How long until the rest of the country sees the light? Would you rather switch or stick?

counting in 10's instead of 16,32,64,128,256ths is alot easier. 0 -
Switch and get it over with. Doesn't our military mostly use metric already? 0 -
If god wanted me to go metric, I would have been born with 25.4 centimeters instead. 0 -
I just wish we would stick with one or the other, it is a real pain to convert inches into milimeters. 0 -

When I was in school I really liked the SI system. Now I think it's one more step closer to one world government. I vote for we make things in the USA, like we did a long time ago. I want quality not junk made in China or eleswhere. Except for tolet paper nothing should be to use once and throw away. English/Metric/Wentworth I couldn't careless if it was well designed/manufactured. 0 -
The real nutjobs are the UK and Canada- they use some of both- i.e. you drive 100 km/h, but buy a shirt with a neck line of 16 inches. 0 -
jonk...
In Canada, the shirts are marked with BOTH, for ppl who dont use the metric system and need to buy a shirt...0 -
metric is useful, but not good, we used to pay ?1.00 a gal(4.55 litres)for petrol...now its ?1.00 a litre

It's easy as long as you use a internet calculator.
Here's one0 -
we are forced to use whatever the customer is accustomed to using, just convert it X .03937= 0 -
I'd rather keep it the way it is. I spent 7 years in college doing everything with the metric system, but if I had to read road signs and weather forcasts in km/H and celcius it would drive me bonkers. 0 -
It is a hell of a lot easier to package pot. Don 0 -

I JUST bought a shirt at Sears in Canada (Guelph) two days ago as I was there on business and forgot to bring an extra shirt- and slopped curry on the one I was wearing.
It was not marked in centimeters.0 -
Go metric. 0 -

that does not aply to all metric conversions0 -
All USA plumbing pipe and fixtures are still in "inch" measurements.
A lot of the oil tanks and septic tanks we get are made in Canada...which are rated in Us gallons, liters, and Imperial gallons...
Does non-Frog Canada still use "Imperial Gallons", or is that another term consigned to history's dust bin??0 -
Didn't the Hubble get messed up because the Europeans used Metric and NASA thought it was inches? Or something like that? 0 -
I vote for our old standard! I am not a big fan of metric measurements. I had to learn all of those fractional equivalents; my kids should have to learn them too!![}:)][:D] 0 -
Metric by all means! It's alot more precise for close tolerence blue print specs in millimeters. 0 -
Should I give up on the use of Rods, Fathoms, and stones as measurements then? 0 -

Pull out a Standard tape measure and add 15/16 + 3/8 + 3/32 (you usually have to grab a pencil and paper)
Now pull out a Metric tape and add 100mm + 60mm + 40mm
If you've ever worked in a shop with metric prints, you would agree with me.0 -
We should go metric....sure beats learning two systems 0 -
The aviation industry is predominately standard but we use some metric for high temps and some volumes. 0 -
its not the good or the bad, its about getting people on board, never gona happen, never! 0 -
This topic of conversation has been going on since I was in 1st grade and that my friends was more than 55 yrs ago!
