What is the best rings, mounts for a high powered rifle ?

    I have a model 100 308 Winchester and I would like to put a scope on the rifle. It has already been tapped for a scope. I need to know what base mount and scope rings I need. I am doing this for my father for Christmas and he wants see thru mounts. If anyone can help with this info I sure would appreciate it.

    Fixing to mount a scope on a M70 classic compact 243 I bought about 7 years ago and never shot.Have always used redfield or weaver but a freind of mine started using millet rings.Anyone here have an opinion on them

    First off, tell me why a pastor with a masters degree would mis-spell the word "Christmas"?
