Gun insurance

Now that I've sold my house, I find myself without a gun safe....

Since I expect to be moving frequently for the next few years, investing in another liberty safe that I'm unable to move seems like a waste, so I'm planning on getting something relatively cheap, like a stack-on, ect....

Obviously this means I'm going to lose the theft and fire protection I'm used to so I was wondering are there any any organizations (NRA, maybe?) which offer firearms insurance seperate from a standard homeowners policy.

I just got a notice that my homeowners insurance only covers firearms up to $2,500. I called my agent and he said any additional coverage over $2,500 will cost an additional $2.00 per $100 of value.

I know that the NRA-affiliated gun insurance costs $1.66 per $100 of value. I found "collectibles insurance" online that was a lot cheaper, but the woman on the phone said they only insure collectible guns that are never fired, not hunting and shooting guns.

Does anyone know of other gun insurance providers that are less expensive than the NRA policy? What does everyone here do for theft and fire coverage?

I called Geico to see how much extra adding extra insurance would be for the guns - it is only $83 more/year/$10k worth of insurance. That's not bad!

Try NRA. Seems to work for me.

Check out a Zanotti safe; modular, and easy to move.

If you are a NRA member they provide insurance on your firearms of up to $1000 value for free.

If you want more insurance you can purchase coverage up to $1 million dollars at a cost of $1.66 per $100 of value, per ammum.

Try Collectibls Insurance Agency. They have a wesite, and I know a few people that have a policy through them. They seem to have good rates.
