I set one up in MD - very easy but MD started to charge a $350 fee every year to LLCs even if you did no business so I stopped using it. If you set up an LLC I think you can have class 3 firearms in the name of the LLC.

Your name should appear on NOTHING! Let them fight through the LLC maze![;)]

This is interesting...I'd like to learn more about doing this. Do you know of any resources?

Using a trust is now allowed too. From what I understand it is cheeper and easier to set up.

There is quite a bit of info about it on Uzitalk.com

Only "individuals" are required by law to have the law enforcement certification section filled out. Corporations and other legal entities may purchase NFA items without submitting photographs, fingerprints, and without the CLEO signoff. This exemption is frequently used by those who are unable to obtain a CLEO signoff in their area. Many people are already an officer of a corporation by virtue of being self-employed and therefore purchase the NFA item through their corporation as a business investment. Others will form a corporation for the express purpose of purchasing NFA items. Forming a corporation is easier than you may think. While you can do it yourself, for a very modest sum of money, you can have a professional do it for you. If you reside in Florida contact me(tcs@mp5.net) and I will give you information for a law firm that will set up your corporation for you for less than $100. At that point the CLEO signoff becomes a moot point.

    TCS@mp5.net is not ME.
