Doug passed the first test ....
Now, we haven't ever met Doug Wilson
before ... and granted, we haven't
really actually met him yet.
Doug gave us some directions for a very,
very interesting restaurant that was built
as a hotel, in 1905 - originally the Hotel
Oregon, in McMinnville, OR.

When we found it - Doug's one of the few
perspective friends who have ever given
me the correct directions to anything![:o)]
Anyway, upon entering McMinnamins we
were stunned with so much 'eye candy!'
As a lover of old buildings ... this was one
of the very best! SO much to look at -
everywhere - wonderful![:D]

The interior is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
... it's a gem from the beginning of the
last century! It actually speaks to you
through it's beautiful old wood, lights,
and old light fixtures ... through
everything within![:0]

Everywhere you turn ... it's more of the
same! ... wonderful things!

Across the street, on the corner, is another
1886 hotel - whose ground floor has been
reconstructed as a period ice cream parlour!
Unfortunately, the the Marion Berry Fruit Crisp,
with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream desert kept us
from exploring it until tomorrow sometime!

Before that ... it was Whiskey Brushed Salmon
for us ... too good to even describe.
IF any of you are close enough to check out
McMinnville, OR ... do it! We're glad we did!
Doug's our newest `Oregon best buddy'
already! Thanks Doug!

Why's that pretty lady hang out with some green dude with a frightening smile? 0 -
so....you like old houses, huh?
sooo.....do you like WORKING on old houses too?
[:D][:p]0 -
Nooooooooo.
I've owned enough older homes - never a new one - to last me
a lifetime. Don't work on household stuff anymore since I roofed
a 2700 Sq. Ft. single story nightmare house years ago.

Oregon is very famous for its marionberry deserts and shakes when in season. A very tart form of blackberry/ raspberry combo.
Darn that sounds good, want to go back again?
McMinimums has another neat place up in Forest Grove called the Grand Lodge. The decor is beautiful, very unusual. But it is about 45 min up from Mcminnville and around 30 miles.
