Rabbit hunting in PA?
I will be rabbit hunting in PA for the first time in October. I looked on the PA website but could not find info on what loads were acceptable on Sate lands. Shotgun or .22lr??? Does anyone here know?

Both are...when you get your license you get a book that is more filled out with info... 0 -
I haven't lived there for a couple of years, but if I remember correctly, you can use either. However, I would recommend the shotgun as it is much easier to hit them running, which is how you will see most of them.[:D]

Here is the link to the small game regs. They are the same on state land and private land.0 -
I live in PA. Both shotguns and .22 are OK for rabbit, but you'll find a shotgun much preferable. Usually, the rabbit is running and you have a second or two to fire. Are you using a dog?
BTW, shotguns must be able to hold no more than 3 rounds in PA. If yours holds more, you're supposed to add a "plug" to limit capacity to 3 rounds.
Where will you be hunting?0 -
They have a whole bunch of big rabbits theree in PA. The 150 pound type. I would use a 270 myself...hehehe 0
