204 -v- 22-250
Have an opportunity to pick up a nice 700 SPS Varmint in either 204 or 22-250.
Thoughts on either for yotes and p-dogs? Most shots 250 yds and under.

Less recoil with the 204. 35 grain Bergers are WONDERFUL if you save the pelts. 0 -
I would go with the 22-250 just in case you have to shoot out farther with a little wind. 0 -
I Have both calibers for my Encore. Since i bought the 204 barrel i havent shot the 22-250. both are great calibers but i have to agree with DCLOCO and go with the 204. you can find factory loaded ammo 32gr hrdy vmax for 11 bucks a box if you watch the sales. i reload for the 22-250 due too the fact that its 15-20 bucks a box. I get awsome results with the factory 204 ammo. 5 shot groups @100yds under 1/4in, all where touching but one. (i have that target around somewheres maybe on the pc at the office.) PLUS less recoil. and all the myths you heard about the wind drift are just that. Dont worry about wind drift.
1- it sucks shoot p-dogs or hunt on a windy days anyway.
2- if you where to go on those days you'll have to adjust for it anyway no matter which one you go with.

I am a fan of the 22-250 and am confident in the round but I would like to get a 204 myself just to see how good it is first hand. 0 -

I would consider a trade of sorts. got any Encore calibers that your considering selling/trading. have a set of lee dies that would come with. Seriously I havent shot it or reloaded for it in nearly 2 yrs now. since buying the 204 and a 17hmr, the 22-250 has taken a back seat to these when varmit hunting. it's just taking up room in the safe, and I would consider trading it for another caliber.0
