dewalt trim saw question

Sorry for my ignorance but will a Dewalt 5 3/8"trim saw handle the same LIGHT duty workload as a regular circle saw? Cutting 7/16 plywood and 2x4's? Thanks.

    It is hard to find them without buying them in a kit at the big box stores. If you buy them stand alone you will probably pay a high price.

    Motor Amps is a clue to the strength and durability of your tool!

    Some folks put a 4 1/2" blade and that will NOT cut a 2X.
    But they sure cut smooth on plywood.

    No it won't!
    Not as well and not for nearly as long.
    Their biggest attributes are compactness and convenience, not durability or longevity.

    A friend of mine used my 18 volt DeWalt Drill/driver, Trimsaw kit to build his 3 car garage. The saw would zip 2x4's just about all day on one battery. They are an awesome tool, but as time progresses, the batteries wear, and need to be replaced so they do not need to be charged as often.
