may want to look at the Para-Ordnance 45-12. Double action is really light, grips kinda fat if you have little paws, price not too bad.

I do have to ask why no less than 10 rounds? You do know they make single stack that holds ten rounds (one in the pipe makes 11). I also know you can buy 40-ish round drums for Colt 1911 Clones (just need to live in the right state). Hell for home defence get a Mossberg Persuader with a pistol grip, laser dot, flash light mounted pistol fore grip, red dot scope, side saddle for extra ammo and a bayonet[:D] (too much?).

Wilsons are nice but they is spendy, pretty much same goes with Baer and Ed Brown. But I will tell you this it'll take a meat cleaver to take my Ed Brown from my Kung Fu grip[:D].

Go with the Springfield XD. If you're looking for high cap. Just make sure you take a few in hand before plunking down the cash money.

To consider that you can pick up 1911 mags for around 10 bucks or so, a good 1911 such as a kimber, or dan wesson would be perfect.

HK USP Tactical or HK Elite.

They will shoot as good as you can.

    WELCOME to the forum.

A .45 ACP does NOT require 10 rounds for anything. John Moses Browning was a genius. If you can't hit or kill the bad guy in seven plus one from the 1911 .45 ACP then either your genetic line is messed up or you are shooting at superman. In either scenario seven plus one is quite sufficient to prove either case.

You got it right. Sig 220. CDNN has 10 rounders. You said home defense, keep 2 or 3 loaded mags with it in the night stand.

1911 and hi-cap. clones dont seem to be as good as everyone makes them out to me, my friends go to competition combat shoots and every single time they are there, 1911's have more trouble than any other gun, jams ect.., would not look into a 1911 if i was you, def go with XD, or second choice, Glock

the HK and the Sig are insanely overpriced. The XD will go bang every time, feed anything you put in it, and you will have a really nice gun. My other choice would be the new Ruger.
