Cats
To make a long story short, someone stoped feeding thier cat or moved and left the cat.I started feeding the cat.Do you feed cats twice a day? Do you feed them the whole can of food each time you feed them?This is an out door cat.Yes it can sleep on the porch, yes it has a nice cat bed.Yes it has a heat pad turned on when it gets cold.Yes the cat sleeps there.

I like other people's dogs that are well-behaved. I went out this morning to gas up the plow truck and drove by a place where there is always a German Shepherd on a chain in the yard. Poor dog, bitter cold, just wants to be with his people. Why have an animal that you can't care for? 0 -

A friend of mine is soft hearted when it comes to animals. He keeps a boat at the local marina and feeds the resident stray cats and 2 possoms. He told me that he has taken in 8 cats, 5 dogs, and is carrying 24# of dry food a week to the marina. He is always trying to place strays. 0 -

I thought of that, and I also called our county's Nuisance Animal Conservation Office to ask what should I do? I told them I didn't want to kill them, just relocate them. good thing there are soft hearted people out there to make up for the soft-headed ones.
I hate it when people give in to their kids and give them a puppy or kitten for Christmas or their birthday. When the animal grows up or the spoiled brat finds a more interesting toy, no one wants to care for it and the more creature gets turned loose [:(!]
Most pet owners realize that getting a dog or cat means you are getting a family member and YOU are responsible for their welfare for the rest of teh pet's life. The ones who think getting a pet is just like buying a toy piss me off bigtime.0 -

Who says anyone is trying to play the big hunter? Some folks just get pissed off seeing YOUR cat take a crap in THEIR flower bed. Personally I don't dislike or like cats much either way. They are ok as long as the owner keeps the thing out of my yard.
I've had a AKC show quality dog that almost lost a eye in MY yard due to some idiot owner that couldn't keep their animal in their yard, and my dog was not mean towards cats it was just sniffing it. If you don't control the animal it becomes a nuisance.

My mom and grandma both feed outdoor cats.
You hit it on the head. While a cat may prefer wet food, dry is better for their teeth and cheaper. Ergo, the outdoor kitties get dry food and plenty of water (hard to do when it is this cold), whilst the indoor cats get spoiled rotten on canned slop.
I plan on having cats when I have my own home and am out of apartments, and they will only get dry or go hungry; maybe a small can of wet once a week as a treat.0 -

We give our show cats and other cats soft food at least once a week, and that way when its time for meds, they already know its a treat, but now they get the treat every day...
Giving a cat a pill(and yes I have done it many times) via the mouth thru a "popper" stresses the cat to the point where after a couple of days they will run from you....
Oh yes..a dog is no different when it comes to meds...0 -
You can feed the cat to a German Sheppard or a Rotweiller; either will consume most of the carcas and drag away the rest. A Pit Bull will surely kill the cat, but often won't eat too much of it. Whatever you choose to feed the cat to, I wish you the best of luck. 0 -
We have a cat that has shown up at the ambulance station that I work at. I let him in the building when the bosses aren't around. The only drawback to letting him in the station is trying to catch him when we have to leave on a Code 3 run. I think the alert tones scare him and he runs off. Then, we've got to catch him before leaving. We've devised a "kitty-fund" where everyone buys cat food for him. He's a real friendly cat. If I didn't already have three cats at home, I'd take him.
