.243 and 30-06
my dad has several rifles. but these 2 are kind in need of some help. bolts are frozen. what can i do to fix these for him?

What sort of rifles are they?
Not trying to be a smart-alec, but with a number of bolt action rifles, putting on the safety locks the bolt. Is this something you checked?
If I was going to hose it down with solvent of some kind, and if it has a wood stock, I might see about removing the barrelled action from the stock first, so as to keep the solvent and crud from soaking the wood.0 -
Take the barreled action from the stock. Find a pan that will hold the entire barreled action, then cover the whole works with WD-40 and let set for a couple days. that is providing that the cause of the stick bolts isn't something like mentioned above, but is due to being rusted ro some such maledy. 0 -
KROIL works good, BreakFree or AKA CLP works good as well WD40 attracts moisture but will work. make sure what ever you use you give her a good bath in brake or carb cleaner and then apply a light coat of oil and or grease to it all and keep it from locking up again. 0
