10 Commandments of Driving

My oldest son came up with this 4 years ago to convince us why we should allow him to drive. My youngest (15) just got his driver's permit. He must have at least 50 hours of supervised training and no earlier than 6 months to earn his license. The mean parents that we are, he too much abide to this [^].



Ten Commandments of Driving

The Do-Nots

1) Thou shalt not have any distraction, such as listening to music or using a cell phone while the car is in motion.
2) Thou shalt not drive any person not approved by Mom or Dad, within the first six months upon receiving thy driver's license, including personal favors.
3) Thou shalt not drive when Mom or Dad need the car for more urgent (urgent defined as errands, appointments, or pressing duties/matters) needs.
4) Thou shalt not drive the car if thou has any grades of a "B" or lower
5) Thou shalt not use any illicit substances at any time.


The Do's

1) Thou shalt always carry thy driver's license and other identification.
2) Thou shalt check for the insurance and registration forms in the passenger glove compartment.
3) Thou shalt always wear thy seatbelt and make sure that everyone is wearing his or her seatbelt at all times while the car is in motion.
4) Thou shalt only drive to a place and time agreed upon by either Mom or Dad, preferably not driving at night.
5) Thou shalt always follow traffic regulations and drive responsibly.

    Kids can be soooo different. My oldest son..? I didn't allow him to drive any of our rigs w/o us with him. Told him i wanted t keep the transmissions in them. What happened to the first three cars he bought..? All lost their transmissions early on.

    My youngest son..? Just got his license, and i'll let him drive any of them.

    Parents should just put GPS shock collars on kids when they turn 12 and take them off when they turn 21. Whenever the parents suspect the kids of wrong-doing, hit the button. That'll teach them to behave. And if the kid tries to take it off themself, they get an even worse zap.

    Hell you can't even spank a kid. How will that ever work?
